KCR is absolutely right in saying that he will not form an alliance with BJP because TRS is a secular party Let me tell you why.
Ever since BJP came into power it just seemed that half the country’s population and the media went 10 years back in time. The topics of discussion amongst people have turned to be cultural, socially acceptable stuff rather than about progress. The beef ban, porn ban, the rise of mob lynching, communal problems – in other words, the problems that were not a problem before have taken the spotlight and all of the media’s attention too.
Sure, we had the demonetization, surgical strikes, and a few other things to brag about in the BJP service but a majority of the issues that we heard in this tenure of BJP are about backward cultural and about fraudulent rich guys.
At a point – close to demonetization – some people were ecstatic about the move and believed it would lead to the country progressing and also eradication of black money. And most of us believed that. And now, looking at the general market, rupee value in the international market, and countless other issues pointing to the failure, we are left thinking what exactly did happen? Neither was there any explanation from the government nor from our beloved PM. That’s one thing out of the brag list.
The next is surgical strikes. We retaliated with all our might. It has been going on for decades and it might go on in the future too. To be fair, for any government, it’s sheer stupidity to brag over the victory of a nation over another smaller nation that’s decades ago from the progress that we have achieved.
Now that the brag list is out of the way, let’s talk about the issues that our media has been airing over and over and over for the last few years.
Beef Ban And Killing For Cows
At one point, this seemed like an immediate threat to the nation. Suddenly everyone had developed so much love for ancient Indian culture that they forgot that we had been secular for decades and this is not as big a problem as it seems. Then why is this happening? Why had this become a national debate in the 21st Century? Because the system allowed it. Because the leader of the nation hadn’t even spoken a word about it to console the dead or to condemn the killers.
Every time, every single time BJP is on board to lead the nation, the media sets a stage to debate topics like bringing back Indian culture, driving the Muslims out of the country because Hindus were here first, and everyone has to adhere because it’s our country and not someone else’s. It’s like we take a ride back into our primitive mind leaving aside all the recent progress that we have managed to achieve. It’s like somebody wakes us up 20-30 years ago and asks us to behave accordingly. It’s like the monkey mind is hijacking back the civilized mind. And, if you criticize- they kill you. It’s that simple.
Who in their right mind would associate themselves with this party? Sure, it is the second largest party in India and has the consistent support of majority conservatives. But anyone who is looking at the future instead of the past can easily look through the BJP government’s methods and where they are leading the nation.
Besides, the formation of alliance might make little to no difference to TRS in the upcoming Telangana Elections since the party is already strong, had made visible developments across the state and is enjoying a positive vibe among the people.
It can also work out negatively as the BJP’s performance in this tenure is visibly mediocre.
So, is KCR’s decision to not form an alliance with BJP, right?
The intelligent youth says, “Absolutely”.
