Does Congress’ Manifesto Contain A Tinge Of BJP’s Promises?

By separating hapless children from their migrant parents at the US-Mexico border, Trump administration applied its customary supremacy over them. With it, the supporters received a clear-cut message. They were told to relate the matter to the public policy.

It was thereby also made clear that it has nothing to do with white nationalism. It is more often taken to mean as a by-product of the American empire.

Equally, the Bhartiya Janata Party wants to spread out its rigid message among the general public that it cannot tolerate the Congress party to emerge stronger by gaining the support of the common public in the assembly elections in at least five important states.

Keeping this vital point in view, the BJP has been embracing every tactic to relegate the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party. And obviously, the latest one in this regard is its claim of lifting certain issues from its declared manifesto by the Congress party in the state of Rajasthan.

Amid a maddening electioneering for the assembly elections in Rajasthan, the Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat laid the weighty blame on the Congress party for lifting its public welfare issues from the manifesto.

He also mentioned that the Congress party’s manifesto was a tempered version of the BJP’s announcements. No mind was applied by the Congress party in drafting its election manifesto in Rajasthan. It has noticeably included most of the welfare schemes considered earlier by it.

The minister did not fail to mention the issues were already raised by the BJP. He had also stated that if so, the Congress party leaders lack the moral fibre to face the voters with the social-welfare programmes for the future.

Therefore, it deserves no significant importance for the voters where the election is due on December 7.  As the Congress party’s manifesto was released four days after the BJP’s manifesto became public, it is bound to raise such kind of doubts.

The manifesto used to be a traditional, reliable document issued by different political parties at the time of elections, but its value seems to have reduced to merely theoretical pledges. After the elections and results, the politicians appear to turn their blind eyes from the acknowledged promises.
