Akhilesh Yadav, former UP CM and national president of Asia’s largest socialist party, Samajwadi Party, has raised a question mark over the screaming silence of Governor Ram Naik in the wake of a spate of heinous crimes rocking many parts of the state as law and order situations worsen with passage of every single day.
There is a hurricane of crimes in Uttar Pradesh. Hardly a day goes by without the bone-chilling incidents of rape, murder, abduction, and dacoity.
Shortly after swearing in as Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath had boasted that criminals in his government would be either lodged in jail or forced to flee the state.
However, his claim has fallen flat on its face. The reality betrays CM’s claim.
Under prevailing circumstances, the onus is on His Excellency, Governor Ram Naik. His screaming silence brings disrepute to the august office.
In fact, the Raj Bhavan had been over active in writing letters of caution and complain during the Samajwadi Party government over such law and order issues. It is quite unfortunate for the Governor to abdicate his constitutional responsibility.
As he appears to have endorsed the BJP government’s illusory claims. should step forward and, people’s faith in the gubernatorial sanctity had been shaken.
